Prepare: Wash all the vegetables and fruits thoroughly. (We are a big fan of utilising apple cider vinegar and baking soda to get any further nasties of our fruits and veggies!) Peel and chop the cucumber, carrot, celery, and green apple into small chunks for easier blending. Cut the lemon in half and juice it. Peel the ginger and chop it into smaller pieces.
Load the Blender: Place the fresh spinach leaves, cucumber, carrot, celery, green apple, ginger, and the freshly squeezed lemon juice into a high-speed blender.
Add Liquid: Pour in one cup of coconut water or filtered water into the blender. The liquid will help the ingredients blend smoothly into a creamy consistency. If you prefer a colder smoothie, you can also add a handful of ice cubes (The more ice, the more thicker and creamier it will become)
Blend until Smooth: Secure the lid of the blender and start blending on high speed until the mixture turns into a smooth and velvety texture. This usually takes about 1-2 minutes, depending on your blender's power.
Taste and Adjust: Once the smoothie is blended, taste it. If you prefer a tangier flavor, you can add a bit more lemon juice. For a sweeter taste, consider adding a teaspoon of honey, maple syrup or a frozen banana (personally our fave!). Adjust the flavors to suit your preferences.
Serve and Enjoy: Pour the Detox Veggie Smoothie into a glass or a travel cup. You can garnish it with a cucumber slice or a sprinkle of chia seeds if desired. Sip it slowly and savor the goodness of this nutrient-packed beverage - yummo!
