A Simple BUT Delicious Blueberry-Infused Detox Smoothie

Detox Blueberry-infused Smoothie

This little recipe is a powerful conjunction that allows you to get a multitude of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in a simple one drink sink. Swap and change any of the ingredients to hit the curb of your sweet tooth, or embrace the fruit smoothie without the sweetness.
Embrace the benefits of the ingredients this recipe has and reap the rewards of feeling amazing for the rest of your day!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 ripe frozen banana
  • 1 cup spinach (or your preferred leafy greens)
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your preferred plant-based milk)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of natural Honey (for sweetness))
  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats (optional)
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the blueberries, spinach, and cucumber thoroughly (Apple cider vinegar and bi-carb are a perfect way to rid them of harmful organisms/external chemicals)

  2. In a blender, add the blueberries, banana, spinach, cucumber, almond milk, chia seeds, lemon juice, and grated ginger (if using).

  3. Blend the ingredients on high speed until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency. If desired, add a few ice cubes for a chilled smoothie.

  4. Pause blending occasionally to scrape down the sides of the blender, ensuring all the ingredients are well incorporated.

  5. Once the smoothie reaches your desired consistency, taste and adjust the flavors as needed. You can add more lemon juice for a tangier taste or a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.

  6. Pour the smoothie into a glass and serve immediately. Savor the refreshing flavors and enjoy the nourishing benefits of this detoxifying beverage.

Note: Feel free to customize the recipe by adding other ingredients such as a scoop of plant-based protein powder, a handful of fresh mint leaves, or a tablespoon of flaxseeds for added nutritional value.
